A North-East India cement brand, 1.5 million tonnes a year, founded 2008

How we built the entire digital system for a cement brand that had already won on the ground

Services delivered

We took a cement brand that had already won on the ground and built the entire digital system.

The tonnage that nobody saw

1.5 million tonnes a year, zero digital infrastructure

Amrit Cement had been pouring foundations across North-East India since 2008. Award-winning quality. An 800-plus dealer network. The kind of credibility that takes a decade to earn. But if you searched for them, scrolled their feed, or landed on their site, none of that came through. The brand was operating at full capacity offline and near-zero online.

Founded by first-generation entrepreneurs in Meghalaya, Amrit Cement had built one of the most respected regional cement operations in the country. What they had not built was a way for that reputation to exist digitally. And in a category where even B2B buyers now search before they call, that gap was becoming expensive.

The break

The market had moved. The brand hadn’t.

Our market research confirmed what we suspected: the competitive landscape was not just about price and quality any more. It was about visibility, consistency and credibility across digital touchpoints. Amrit Cement had the product. They did not have the presence.

Younger decision-makers — builders, architects, contractors — were defaulting to brands they could find, not necessarily brands they trusted more.

The strategic call

We didn’t start with a content calendar. We started with architecture.

This was not a run-our-socials brief. We approached Amrit Cement as a brand transformation problem. The question was not what should we post. It was: how do we build a connected system where every touchpoint — social, search, website, messaging, paid, reputation — works as one machine?

We designed a four-pillar framework: Brand Perception, how people see you; Digital Infrastructure, where people find you; Demand Generation, how people reach you; and Engagement and Trust-Building, why people stay. Every service, campaign and asset was mapped against these pillars. Nothing ran disconnected, and a yearly timeline locked execution into a structured roadmap rather than improvising month to month.

The social rebuild

From sporadic posts to a communication system

Social media for a cement brand is not about going viral. It is about being consistently present where decision-makers scroll. We repositioned Amrit Cement’s social from a dormant channel to a structured platform, balancing product credibility, industry relevance, educational storytelling and brand recall.

April 2024 through March 2025: a full twelve months of planned, produced, published content across Instagram and Facebook. Not filler — structured content designed to make Amrit Cement the most visible cement brand in the feed. Every post served the strategy, and every month built on the last.

Giving cement a face

Meet Joe. Cement’s first personality.

Try making cement relatable. That was the brief we gave ourselves. The answer was Joe, a custom-designed character who could simplify technical messaging, increase engagement, and give the brand an ownable visual asset no competitor could replicate.

Joe became the connective tissue across formats. We produced three distinct video formats — brand campaign films for emotional equity, instructional videos for dealer and contractor education, and animated content for social engagement. Joe tied all of it together. In a category where every brand looks the same, we gave Amrit Cement a face.

The game nobody expected

An Instagram game. For a cement brand.

Passive content has a ceiling. To break through we introduced interactive formats — an Instagram AR filter and a gamified experience that turned audience attention into audience participation.

The filter and game increased time spent with the brand, encouraged organic sharing, and generated engagement that static posts never could. It also made a statement: this is not the cement brand your father defaults to. The filter ran as a story highlight — a persistent, re-discoverable brand experience sitting on the profile long after the campaign ended.

The infrastructure beneath

We rebuilt everything they couldn’t see

The visible work — social, video, character — was only half the system. Underneath, we reconstructed the entire digital infrastructure. A new website. Overhauled SEO. WhatsApp Business API for real-time lead response.

Three infrastructure moves, one outcome: the brand became findable, credible and responsive.

SEO

Search visibility was strengthened so the brand appears at the moments where discovery actually happens. SEO moved Amrit Cement from invisible in organic search to competing directly with national brands for high-intent keywords.

WhatsApp Business API

We built WhatsApp marketing campaigns aimed at the groups that actually move volume: regional dealerships, independent house builders, masons and contractors. Regular messaging reached over 100,000 stakeholders, with content created in six languages to suit a genuinely multilingual audience.

Automated response systems handled lead qualification, and the campaigns ran contests, technical tips and product updates rather than one-way announcements. It solved the oldest problem in a high-enquiry category: speed of response. Interest to conversation in seconds, not days.

Website redesign

The website went from a static information dump to a structured brand platform: clear navigation, strong storytelling, lead-oriented architecture.

From presence to performance

We moved the brand’s social from visibility to measurable performance — stronger engagement, sharper strategy, and results that show up in the numbers rather than the deck.

269Average engagement per post, up from 52

Before and after, twelve months apart. These are the figures Amrit Cement publishes on its own page; the capture records them as zero because the counters animate from zero and the crawler read them at rest.

Demand on tap

We didn’t just build presence. We built pipeline.

Visibility without demand generation is a vanity project. We ran performance campaigns across targeted audience segments and regional geographies to turn attention into enquiries, and online reputation management made sure every new visitor found a brand sentiment that matched the brand promise.

ORM ran in parallel — monitoring perception, responding to feedback, actively strengthening credibility. In cement, a single negative review can cost a dealer relationship. We made sure the digital record reflected the trust Amrit Cement had already earned on the ground.

The MD’s voice

We put the managing director on the map

Brands are trusted. People are believed. We built a thought leadership programme around Pradeep Bagla, MD of Amrit Cement, positioning him as an industry voice on LinkedIn rather than just a business operator — content strategy, ghostwriting, engagement cadence and positioning.

The result was a presence that extended Amrit Cement’s credibility beyond the brand page and into personal authority. Content ranged from industry commentary to regional development. One post on the Bangladesh political situation reached an audience far beyond the cement industry — proof that thought leadership is not about staying in your lane.

The full year, mapped

Twelve months. One roadmap. Zero drift.

Everything we did was mapped into a yearly execution timeline. Content, campaigns, infrastructure builds and launches, all sequenced so nothing ran in isolation and momentum never dropped.

The timeline was not just a calendar, it was an accountability system. Every month had defined deliverables and every deliverable had a strategic rationale. We also handled the tactical extensions most agencies treat as afterthoughts — emailer campaigns for dealer and customer communication, and bag redesign recommendations so the physical product carried the same clarity as the digital brand.

Packaging design

The bag that built brand recall

A cement bag is more than packaging. It is a daily presence across construction sites, dealer networks and customer touchpoints. We redesigned the packaging to reflect the strength, reliability and trust the brand represents.

With a sharper visual identity, improved information hierarchy and a stronger shelf presence, the new packaging became an extension of the brand — carrying the same confidence as the product inside.

Emailers

Internal and dealer communication got the same treatment as the public work: a set of emailer templates for birthdays, work anniversaries and new joiners, so the brand sounded like itself everywhere it appeared.

A birthday emailer reading The day a star was born
A work anniversary emailer reading Bossin’ it for another year
A new-joiner emailer reading Onboard? Nah. We say welcome home.

The system we left behind

We didn’t build campaigns. We built the machine that runs them.

When we stepped back, Amrit Cement did not lose a vendor. They gained a system. Social media, website, search, paid, messaging, reputation and thought leadership — all interconnected, all running, all measured.

The transformation took a traditionally strong but digitally absent brand and gave it a complete, functioning digital ecosystem. The Instagram game gets attention. The website converts it. WhatsApp captures it. SEO compounds it. ORM protects it. And the content machine — driven by Joe, the timeline and the leadership programme — keeps feeding the whole loop. That is not marketing. That is infrastructure.
